The University and United Academic representatives on the contract implementation committee continue to meet weekly. Given the complexity of the contract and the strong desire to “get it right” the committee has developed a timeline for completion of the One-Time Reclassification process and for Internal Governance Policy development. The timeline includes specific timetables for aspects of internal governance that will take us into the Fall 2014 term.
The areas addressed in the timeline include:
- One-time Reclassification to be completed in Winter 2014 term (CBA MOU)
- Internal governance policy development timeline (Article 4)
- TTF/NTTF review and promotion timeline (Article 20) (Article 19)
- Assignment of professional responsibility policy development timeline ( Article 36 )
- Merit pool distribution policy development timeline (Article 26)
- Summer Session appointments and assignments policy development timeline (Article 18)
Each area presents a specific set of implementation challenges. The Implementation Committee is especially aware of the need to provide adequate time for faculty involvement in the review and revision of existing policies and where necessary the development of new policies.
