Summer Session 2014 planning is underway, and after consultation with United Academics, the University is moving forward for this year using past practice with respect to course assignments and course cancellation. This approach is necessary for the moment because there is not enough time to develop new procedures and policies for the coming summer.
Unit heads will inform all faculty on past practices associated with summer session planning and course assignments in their units. Methods for informing faculty can include, but are not limited to, e-mail or faculty meetings. Any changes in salary determination should be made in consultation with faculty. Within the next year, summer session 2015 policies will be developed by the faculty in each unit with guidance, review, and approval as outlined in CBA Article 18 Summer Session.
