CBA Workshop: Designing Policies for Assignment of Professional Responsibility and Summer Session

On May 14th and 16th the University’s CBA Implementation Team held workshops for deans, department heads and program administrators to discuss the development of policies under ARTICLE 17 : Assignment of Professional Responsibility and ARTICLE 18 : Summer Session Appointments and Assignments. Faculty in all departments will be developing these policies in fall 2014. The workshops were the first of a series of conversations concerning these articles.

The Team noted that the need to develop merit and equity salary policy in time for the 2014 spring salary increase process moved the development of the Professional Responsibility policy to next fall, even though it would have been desirable to complete it before the salary policy.

In developing policies in both areas, faculty and administrators will follow the same inclusive process used in policy development this academic year.
